This painting is another in the Lochnagar Series that juxtaposes colours from the land with sewn fabrics to create an abstracted landscape.
Cut left hanging, these pieces embrace vulnerability, but are also bold in their honesty. There is an honesty in its untethered form and in leaving the materials in their raw state, not covering up marks or errors but allowing them to be valid.
The hanging of these pieces gives them space, a bit like isolated islands, unrestrained. Read more about my process behind this hanging work on my blog .
