Part of my Lochnagar series 2019/2020, this work evolved from in-situ sketches of the Lochnagar munro walk in the Cairngorms. 

I was struck by the feeling of both contemplation and exhilaration when teetering along the edge of the munro and wanted to convey this feeling. In sewing two fabrics together, a slither of untethered fabric comes away from the canvas, creating a ridge for the eye to walk along. 

This piece overlays materials with sections from previous drawings, creating depth and texture. There is a transparent section middle-right which shows the wall colour behind, meaning that this piece will look different depending where it is hung!
